Congratulations to the winners of the YES! Hackathon Challenge!

The official awards session for the Power Learn Project and YES! Sustainable Energy Solutions Hackathon took place on 11 August,  aligned with International Youth Day and International Youth Week celebrations.

The winners are:

1st place: Janet Wamaitha and her team at Ojan Energy for their energy management system that combines IoT and machine learning to improve energy efficiency. They win $500!

2nd place: Ochieng Steven and Waste2Wealth for their WattSmart web app that helps users track their electric device power consumption and costs. Bagging $300!

3rd place: Dishan Otieno for his IoT energy monitoring system that uses IoT technology to collect and analyze real-time data on energy usage, enabling better management and optimization of energy resources. Take home $200!

Special Recognition to Salathiel Wekesa, creator of EnergyEyes, and Gift Arthur, driving Green Diaries’ impactful cause.

Salathiel gets an exclusive YES! Event pass for 10 November, while Gift earns an invitation to the Climate Summit and introduction to the Ministry of Environment.
