WOCEWA SCHOLARSHIP AND GREEN JOBS PROGRAM FOR WOMEN IN STEM

Are you a young woman in West Africa thinking of going for a master’s program in an energy-related field?

The ECOWAS Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (ECREEE) has received funding for a project called Women and Clean Energy in West Africa (WOCEWA).

WOCEWA has been designed to contribute to the objectives of the ECOWAS Policy for Gender Mainstreaming in Energy Access, which aims to address barriers to the equal participation of women and men in the expansion of energy access in West Africa.

The initiative will sponsor a total of six (6) young women from West Africa to complete their master’s programs. These young women will also be funded to work in the ECOWAS energy sector as interns for a period of six (6) months – increasing their ability to find employment in the energy sector.

Application deadline: 3 October 2024
